Get a Haircut

Although it may be regarded as somewhat extravagant to travel to a foreign city just to have your hair cut or styled, if you happen to realise that you could do with a quick snip while you’re abroad, what’s to stop you from getting what you want? Some people also relish the idea of visiting another country and returning home looking different.

You may even realise that the time has come for that really dramatic haircut that you’ve been putting back, such as the complete removal of those long tresses, a shocking colour change, or to finally admit that your hairline is receding and give the go-ahead for that full shave.  Such drastic changes in your appearance can often be awkward when done at home as everyone you meet for the next two weeks or so will feel compelled to talk about your new style.

However, if these same changes are done while you’re on holiday, the main topic for discussion upon your return will be the trip itself.  What’s more, everyone will associate your new look with your recent voyage to a city that’s famous for fun and friendliness.

Finding a good hairdresser in Dublin is simplicity itself as the city is bursting with a great many reputable salons and barber shops.  Popular international chains such as Toni and Guy also have branches in Dublin and present you with an international name that you may be familiar with.  However, if you want to try something local, you could opt for one of the professional home-grown salons, like one of the famed Peter Marks salons.  Founded in 1961 in Grafton Street, they have since become the most successful hairdressing company in Ireland, with over 65 salons all over the country.

Alternatively, if you’re a guy and your requirements are more straightforward, you could easily show up at a barber shop and get your haircut on the same spot where the neighbourhood gentlemen would have been getting theirs for generations.
