It’s a cliché and a stereotype, but just because it isn’t fair to say that Dublin is full of drunks, doesn’t mean that you yourself cannot go and get completely plastered. In many ways, Dublin is one of the best places for such an activity as it boasts a legendary selection of local beers and spirits as well as some truly fantastic pubs filled with very friendly people. Apart from that, it is also comparatively safe and you can afford to go wild a little if you keep it within limits.
With a pint of stout in your hand combined with good company and raucous entertainment, a more fun night out is hard to conceive. If stout isn’t your thing you can knock back some Irish cider or else move on directly to the Irish whiskey – whether it be single malt, malt grain, pure pot still, or blended, you’re bound to find your ideal tipple. If however you’re more of a lightweight, you can resort to an Irish cream liqueur such as the world-renown Bailey’s, which is based on a combination of Irish whiskey, coffee, and cream.
Also, if you’re truly determined to carry on drinking even after the sun rises on the next day, you can then switch to Irish coffee which is a cocktail of Irish whiskey, hot coffee, and a generous dollop of cream. Dublin is a very popular destination for people who are seeking exclusively to party, such as stag night groups. Therefore, even if you happen to be a small group or are flying solo, you are bound to fall in with a lively company sooner or later. Just be careful to observe your limits. After all, it would be quite a shame to waste the following day’s sightseeing because you’d be too busy nursing the hangover from hell.
