National Wax Museum

The National Wax Museum Plus is an exciting new interactive visitor attraction located on Foster Place, just off Dame Street, in the Temple Bar district at the heart of Dublin City Centre. The museum is housed in the historic landmark Armoury Building, previously the home of Ireland’s bullion and arms stores.

The National Wax Museum is four floors of discovery, interaction and exhibition. Visitors enter through the Irish Writers room and then descend in to the basement for a journey through the vaults of Irish history from the Vikings right up to the Good Friday Agreement. Also housed in the basement is the horrific Chambers of Horrors, all those of a nervous disposition are warned to keep out!

From the basement visitors travel to second floor and the Children’s Enchanted World; home of The magical tunnels and Cartoon Heroes and a year round children’s cinema. Also on the second floor is The Science and Discovery room, a tribute to our heroes of science, engineering and invention.

The third floor houses a Hall of Fame in tribute to sporting, theatre and television legends. Also featured on this floor is the unique “green screen” video room; The WAX Factor recording studio, the only one of its kind in the country and allows visitors to record themselves and upload the footage to an on-line portal.

Visitors complete their tour in the Grand Hall of Fame, a jaw dropping tribute to some of our greatest movie and music legends. Some of our Rock 'n' roll and movie icons are immortalised in wax and on display to greet visitors for the crescendo of the tour….then wait for an explosion of sight and sounds as you are taken on a trilling journey of movie and music’s golden moments with the stars that make them magic!
