Delicious Italian


When it comes to cooking, the Italians have definitely made a name for themselves. Lasagna, also known as lasagne al forno, is simply a traditional Italian dish made with alternate layers of pasta, cheese, and often ragù (a meat sauce) or tomato sauce. Many Irish chefs have also diverted from Italian tradition, changing or adding ingredients to create, for example, mouth-watering spinach or chicken lasagna dishes.

It seems that nearly every nation has some form of dumpling, and Italy is no exception. In Italy, dumplings are collectively known as “Gnocchi”, and are made in several different styles - all of them delicious. Gnocchi should be delicate enough to be described as tender, yet sturdy enough to hold it's own when combined with sauce. Gnocchi can be made of almost any ingredients that can be formed into a dough.
