Climb the Viewing Tower

If you’re with a group of friends and would like to make some great memories, there can be few more memorable sights than a view of Dublin from far above. The Chimney Viewing Tower in Dublin will enable you to see a 360 degree panoramic view of the city from a distance of 185 feet in the air.

A trip up the chimney can also be used to emphasise a romantic moment or to provide a breathtaking setting when spending time with a loved one. Others have even ascended the Chimney in search of inspiration from the glorious sight of Dublin from so far above.

The chimney was originally used to distil Ireland’s famous Jameson Whiskey – the best known and most highly regarded Irish whiskey.  Nowadays it serves as one of Dublin’s tallest landmarks and regularly hosts tourists in its two-tiered glass enclosed viewing platform where they could marvel at the city sprawled out beneath them.  Visitors ascend the Chimney by means of a glass lift.

The Chimney is a mere ten minute walk from O’Connell Street and opens seven days a week with the exception of the first Sunday of every month. Visitors pay an admission fee while group prices are available for groups of ten or more.  The Chimney is accessible to disabled people and has a restaurant.  Most visits last around twenty minutes.  Guided Tours are also available in the case of groups numbering over fifty.
