Catch Some Live Music

If you’re a fan of live music, then you’re really going to be in your element while in Dublin.

Whether you prefer a mega-massive concert with an all-star line-up, or if an intimate gig by an up-and-coming musician is more your style, you’re sure to find it all at Dublin.

After all, this is the very city that sprouted all four members of U2.

Live performers include an eclectic array of folk singers, experimental artists, celebrated Irish outfits, and the occasional retro legends such as Madness or Iggy and the Stooges making a special appearance for their die-hard fans.  Also, Dublin boasts a wealth of home-grown talent for you to discover such as the bands Whipping Boy, the Frames, and Humanzi to name but a few.

There are many venues for live music ranging from traditional pubs with rich histories to the latest bars and lounges with their chic décor and high profile clientele.  However, Dublin also has the knack for hosting seemingly impromptu concerts in the most unexpected places.  Parks, squares, castles, and even hospitals can suddenly find themselves transformed into a venue for a memorable music event.

Also, if you’re a real music connoisseur, you can scout out the smaller venues in search of cutting-edge new artists who are still working on their debut album.  Who knows, you might just be witnessing the birth of the new U2.
