Some of the best comedy acts from Ireland and the world take to Dublin’s stages to have their audiences rolling in the aisles.
Established in 1957, the festival’s aim is to bring the very best of international theatre to Dublin while also providing a platform for the most promising Irish writers and directors of the day. Unlike the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Dublin Theatre Festival concentrates completely on theatre with far less emphasis being placed on opera, music, and dance.
Since 2004, this music festival has been featuring some of the biggest names in the international music scene. Acts have included the Darkness, Franz Ferdinand, Pink, the Black Eyed Peas, the Foo Fighters, Green Day, the Killers, the Kaiser Chiefs, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Placebo, Snow Patrol, Muse, and even James Brown.
The Dublin Toy and Train Fair will this year celebrate 12 years in operation, attracting collectors in search of a great day's browsing and buying. Collectable toys of all kinds will be available, as well as film annuals from the 1940's-1960's, jigsaws, teddy bears and Beanie Babies.
ABSOLUT Fringe is Ireland’s largest multi-disciplinary arts festival. The festival stages up to 650 events in over 40 venues and is a platform for the best new, emerging Irish arts companies and a showcase for the best contemporary theatre and dance shows touring internationally.
